A mixing rule for predicting frequency dependence of material parameters in magnetic composites
نویسندگان
چکیده
A number of mixing rules are proposed in the literature to predict the dependence of effective material parameters (permittivity and permeability) of composites on frequency and concentration. However, the existing mixing rules for frequency dependence of permeability in magnetic composites typically do not provide satisfactory agreement with measured data. Herein, a simple mixing rule is proposed. Its derivation is based on the Bergman–Milton spectral theory. Both the Bruggeman effective medium theory and the Maxwell Garnett approximation are included as particular cases of the proposed mixing rule. The derived mixing rule is shown to predict accurately the frequency dependence of permeability in magnetic composites, which contain nearly spherical inclusions. & 2011 Elsevier B.V. Predicting Young’s Modulus of Aggregated Carbon Nanotube Reinforced Polymer
Prediction of mechanical properties of carbon nanotube-based composite is one of the important issues which should be addressed reasonably. A proper modeling approach is a multi-scale technique starting from nano scale and lasting to macro scale passing in-between scales of micro and meso. The main goal of this research is to develop a multi-scale modeling approach to extract mechanical propert...
متن کاملQuasi-Dynamic Homogenization of Geometrically Simple Dielectric Composites
The frequency dependence of the effective permittivities of simple dielectric composites is evaluated by different quasidynamic homogenization methods. Three retrieval approaches based on the scattering parameters are proposed for dielectric materials. A compensation method for the conventional Nicolson-Ross-Weir (NRW) retrieval is applied to eliminate the FabryPérot (FP) resonances and their d...

The present study investigates the use of different GE mixing rules in cubic equations of state for prediction of phase behavior of multicomponent hydrocarbon systems. To predict VLE data in multicomponent symmetric and asymmetric mixtures such as systems that contain light gases (nitrogen, carbon dioxide, etc.) and heavy hydrocarbons, the SRK equation of state has been combined with excess Gib...
